Beaubois is giving a star performance in the renovation and enlargement of the Juilliard /Alice Tully Hall, an integral part of this internationally-renown centre for the arts.
This elegant, 1,100-seat theatre is considered to be one of New York's most prominent venues. Every performer dreams of seeing their name up in its lights and of being honored there, as the best have been for over 40 years.
Some of the items that Beaubois is producing for this revitalization demand exceptional skill because of their unique and complex design. These include louvers and curtain-walls into which will be integrated hardwood planks made from muirapiranga, an unusual and extremely attractive composition.
Beaubois will also produce other wall and acoustical panels, a staircase, large storage cupboards for the musical instruments and counters for the ticket office. They will grace the rehearsal hall, the lobbies, the orchestra's instrument room and other rooms in the building. The woods selected are padouk, muirapiranga, beech and white maple, all quarter-cut.
When it re-opens in the fall of 2008, the Juilliard / Alice Tully Hall will have state-of-the-art equipment and the latest in modern installations for concerts, films, plays and dance performances.
Since its founding, the Juilliard / Alice Tully Hall has witnessed great performances by world-famous entertainers. From Leonard Bernstein to Spike Lee, Sir Harold Pinter to David Byrne, Yo-Yo Ma to Rosie O'Donnell and Beverly Sills to Clint Eastwood, the tradition continues. Beaubois is proud to add its own artistry to this venue dedicated to talent in all its forms.
