Justice is doubly served by Beaubois in Kentucky
Beaubois fine woodwork gave the two new buildings that make up the New Fayette County Courthouse in Lexington, KY a very sophisticated look.
The solid wood and veneers are all oak, which has been quarter cut. This process is more expensive but results in a straighter grain. The Beaubois team was working with a lot of solid wood, something rarely seen these days, so they had to make allowance for the fact that it swells or shrinks, depending on the humidity. This added an extra dimension to the complexity of the work.
Beaubois fabricated and installed the furnishings for each room (judges' benches, witness stands, work stations for the court clerks, seating for the public). The walls are covered in oak panels connected by solid wood tongues. The team also produced the furniture and architectural woodwork which it installed in all the judges' private offices and libraries.
Beaubois' superior skill was all the quality assurance this intricate work required.
