After successfully participating in the fit-up of the Fairfax County courthouse, Beaubois carried out all of the architectural woodwork and custom-made furniture of the new Richmond Courthouse.
The company enhanced the nine courtrooms of this establishment by fabricating and installing all of their furniture and wall/acoustic panels as well as decorating the walls behind the judges' benches with leather-covered panels. The leather, twinned with the main wood, walnut, create a unique look.
The meeting rooms, main entrance and judges' offices also bear the Beaubois seal on bookcases, paneling and moldings.
Seven stories high, the Courthouse is home to the U.S. District Court, U.S Bankruptcy Court, U.S Magistrate Court and the U.S Trustees Office, among others. The spaces were designed so they can respond to the growing needs of the State for the next 30 years.
The imposing building, alone covering a whole block, occupies a pre-eminent place among city's largest public buildings such as the Virginia State Legislature, the City Hall and the State library.
The architecture of the Courthouse harmonizes with the historic business neighborhood where it is located. Its 6-story atrium lights up the night, casting the spotlight on the new arts sector as well as the achievements of Beaubois.
