Beaubois' skill and expertise were put to excellent use during construction of the Renaissance - Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Centre, with its 500 rooms, the newest flower of the Illinois tourist industry.
The masterpiece of this contract was the 26-foot high by 236-foot long wall paneling near the ballroom. This wall is absolutely breath-taking, thanks to Beaubois' exquisite taste in selecting and blending wood finishes.
The solid wood sleeper wall in the building's lobby is another Beaubois work of art that attracts a lot of attention. This wall, part of which is cantilevered on a metal frame, is composed of identically-sized tongue and groove hardwood laths, which gives it a delightful cross-hatched look.
The architectural woodwork, the guest room furniture, the Presidential Suite and the front desk are also constant reminders of the skill of the Beaubois team.
This US$156M hotel and convention centre is operated by Marriott International.
