The 18 courtrooms in the new Seattle United States Courthouse (WA) bear the Beaubois seal
This new 20-storey Courthouse in Seattle, a $200M US contract, provides yet another example of Beaubois' contributions to the American justice system.
The firm produced the judges' benches, the witness stands, the court clerks' workstations, seats for the public and all the architectural elements, wall paneling, doors, frames, mouldings, etc. out of a type of cherry wood. Beaubois crafted the furnishings for the building's entrance and the service counters for the cafeteria as well as the wall panels and architectural woodwork for the 7-storey high atrium.
Another very special item came from Beaubois: louvers composed of 9-inch-wide blades. Crafted from African white mahogany, they are shaped like airplane wings. The louvers give each room that special touch.
This was Beaubois' second project in Seattle. In 2002, the firm was involved in the building of the new Seattle Seahawks stadium.
