Four Seasons Hotel and Residences

Four Seasons Hotel & Residences: taking Manhattan to new heights

Rising elegantly above Tribeca, a neighbourhood in the borough of Manhattan, the 82-storey Four Seasons Hotel & Residences will become New York's tallest residential tower.

Located two steps from One World Trade Center, the vintage-style building will offer 189 guest rooms and 157 private residences, including penthouses that will take up an entire storey. The selling price of these upscale residences will range from US$2.6M to US$30M per unit.

Beaubois' signature will be visible starting at the entrance to the hotel, which will occupy the first 27 stories. The reception area will be decorated with wood wall panels framed in bronze U-shaped mouldings, matching the window frames and surrounds. The team will also produce uniquely shaped desks and counters in wood enhanced by stone and metal inserts.

Beaubois will also put its talent to work in the bar, ballroom, restaurant and spa. In the spa, the team will put its stamp on the reception counter, furniture with metal and glass inserts, counters in the treatment rooms and wall panels.

Entering the lobby of the residential section at the top of the hotel, the visitor's eye will be drawn to the curved wall panels, white, shining and seamless. This time, Beaubois, skilled in working with a wide variety of materials, used fibreglass with metal and glass inserts. In addition, the bathroom in each residence will be enhanced by a vanity from Beaubois.

With 11-foot ceilings and a column-free structural system, these condominiums offer large layout possibilities, including fireplaces, terraces, bay windows and formal dining rooms, to name a few. The architectural design ensures that residents have a view of the city and the port. They also have access to a pool, fitness centre, children's playroom and a private lounge.

This is the second New York address for this renowned hotel chain. The other property is on 57th Street and also carries Beaubois' signature, as does a quartet of Four Seasons hotels in Nevis in the Caribbean, Seattle, St. Louis and Orlando.

Tribeca

The name Tribeca is a portmanteau word for Triangle Below Canal Street. Once an industrial area, Tribeca underwent a major transformation in the 1990s, becoming a fashionable residential area and the richest neighbourhood in the city. Many personalities have chosen to live there, including Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Gwyneth Paltrow, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, David Letterman, Taylor Swift and Robert De Niro. In 2010, Tribeca was recognized as the safest neighbour hood in the city, according to New York Police Department and CompStat statistics.
