Salamander Resort & Spa Phase II

A luxurious resort in Virginia

Being out in the countryside, surrounded by vineyards, and only 30 minutes from Washington are among the attractions offered by the Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg, Virginia.

The property's management have spared no efforts to make this one of the first American resorts to obtain LEED certification as well as a Five Star rating from Forbes and a Five Diamond rating from the American Automobile Association.

Designed to blend into its natural environment and respect the architectural traditions of this part of the country, the resort, which opened in August 2013, features 168 guestrooms and suites, a lavish 23,000-square-foot spa, a convention and event centre that includes a ballroom, an equestrian centre with a completely renovated 100-year-old Stallion Barn and practice ring, a restaurant, a cooking studio, a wine bar and a culinary garden.

Having worked on almost all the sections of this huge project, Beaubois brilliantly rose to the challenge of giving all the different types of finishes a rustic look by using white oak hardwood for most of its productions.

The guestrooms and suites of the Salamander Resort & Spa are decorated with mouldings, minibars and fireplace mantels fashioned by Beaubois.  The magnificent octagonal restaurant was one of the team's major achievements with its 16 by 16 inch ceiling beams, enormous columns and half-walls that integrate bench seats.

Beaubois made a significant contribution to the Spa through its mouldings, cupboards, furniture, reception desk, glass cabinets designed to showcase their products and numerous ceilings with rustic-looking beams.

The Beaubois team also crafted and produced many pieces of architectural woodwork and furniture in the ballroom/meeting room, prefunction rooms, wine bar, library, billiards room and cooking studio where classes will be given by renowned chefs.

With its easy access and equestrian heritage, this resort is going to be one of the East Coast's most popular destinations for many years.

Johnson in 2005, the company's portfolio includes the Grand Golf Resorts in Florida, the Grand Resorts of Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic and the Woodlands Inn located near Charleston, South Carolina.
