While one Beaubois team is busy with the architectural woodwork of the Nemours Children's Hospital, another will be working its magic on the new veterans' hospital, the Orlando VA Medical Center.
A project with a value of US$656M, the Lake Nona Medical City is home to the University of Central Florida College of Medicine as well as a 134-bed hospital, a 60-bed convalescent centre, an outpatient clinic and a mini service centre for veterans.
The new 120-bed hospital entrusted to Beaubois will respond to the growing needs of the 400,000 veterans residing in central Florida. It has been carefully designed with the goal of obtaining LEED Silver certification.
Beaubois will carry out all the architectural woodwork for the hospital - reception area, nursing stations, examining rooms, waiting rooms, library, Optometry Department; in short, every single department will be enhanced by its productions. These include the Trespa panels, bed headboards, laboratory furnishings, cabinets, cupboards and stainless steel furniture.
The staff of this new hospital will be surrounded by the most sophisticated digital equipment and ultra-modern facilities. For their part, the patients will benefit from spacious rooms, places for family visits and access to wireless equipment and internet connections.
With these two projects, Beaubois is once again putting to use its vast expertise in hospital fit-ups, an undeniable asset for its clients.
With more than 1,300 establishments across the country, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs operates the largest integrated health care system in the country.
