Beaubois has always been a leader in all its business segments, and the LEED® projects are no exception. The company is becoming increasingly committed to the construction of green buildings. In fact, its success in this field is such that it now receives a growing number of mandates for projects of this type every year.
The LEED® system, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is the international benchmark for designing, constructing and operating high performance green buildings.
Compliance with LEED® standards translates into the use of design and construction practices that reduce the negative impact of buildings on their occupants and the environment.
The LEED® system was developed by the United States Green Building Council and is the most used building environmental rating system in the world. It is specifically intended for designing, constructing, operating and certifying sustainable buildings throughout the world.
LEED® uses a scoring system to evaluate a building's environmental performance. There are four levels of LEED certification:
In Canada, the exclusive authority for implementing the LEED® Green Building Rating System is the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC).
